Because my career goal is to be a senior chemical engineer within 8 years. In order to achieve these goals, I need to learn advanced expertise in financial management and advanced chemistry teaching. The United States can provide me with the best opportunity to get what I need.
You know, the United States has the best educational resources and models in the world. American education combines practical experience with classroom theory, while China's education pays more attention to theory.
In addition, the chemical engineering industry in the United States is highly developed. So I can learn the latest information to enrich my knowledge.

9) Why you don't receive financial aid from this Univ.?
The competition in the chemical industry is very fierce. The international students' budget for the spring term is limited, so I have the opportunity to take part in the thesis competition in the school of chemical engineering. So get a scholarship.
10) What do you do with your work for PhD?
I will take courses, teaching, doing research, and complete the thesis, in the field within 4 years to my doctorate in chemical engineering.
11) What is your purpose for the visa?
I received my bachelor's degree in chemical science from Jiaotong University in 2006, and received a master's degree in chemical engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2010. I have published a book on this field, and several papers. I have two years' experience as well.
12) What is your academic background?
I received my bachelor's degree in chemical science from Jiaotong University in 2006, and received a master's degree in chemical engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2010. Chemical research is my favorite field of study. I have published a book on this field and several papers. I have two years' experience as well.
13) How do you know this Univ.?
I searched the Ranking of University in Electric Engineering on line and read the schools among the top 100 lists, visited their website to get familiar with their faculty and research. I found there are 7 professors in Electric department in Auburn University whose research interest includes image processing, very many, then I decide to apply for this University.
14) What is your plan? What will you do after graduation?
I will concentrate on financial management and complete my Ph. D. study in 6 years of chemical engineering at University of Lancaster. Then I will go back to China and find a university position. My ideal place of work is Shanghai. I want to join Shanghai Univer and become a professor in the Department of chemical engineering.
15) Give me three reasons that you will come back to China?
First of all, I'm the only child of my parents. I have to go back and take care of my parents, because as time goes on, they get older and weaker. The attachment to our family is very strong for us chinese. Second, you can see the program I applied to the doctor instead of the master's program. If I plan to find a job in the United States and stay in the United States, I won't apply for a doctorate, but I will apply for a master's degree program. Ph. D will spend more time, no real interest, who will spend so much time and energy to pursue a doctorate? In the end, it will be easy for me to find a good job in any big city in China with my Ph. D. in chemical engineering in the United states. My career goals determine that it's a better choice than staying and coming back to china. You see, my long-term goal is to be a professor. I find it difficult to realize that I should choose to stay in the United States, because the United States is a highly developed place, and the competition in the university is too fierce. On the other hand, if I go back to China, I have a better chance. Because China is underdeveloped, it leaves more room for the people, so this is my university in China, and the teaching position is more practical.
16) Can you explain why 90% Chinese students didn't come back?
I think that is partly because they were afraid that they would not be treated fairly after they come back. As a matter of fact, that used to be the reality. But things has been changing greatly during recent years and much more students are coming back after they have finished their study. I also think this has something to do with the majors. As for students majoring in science, they may like the better equipment, environment and salary in the states because they are afraid that if they are back some of their research can not go on as a result of poor facility and shortage of funding. But as for my major, it will be very easy for me to find a good job in any of the big cities in china with my Ph.D in Electric Engineering got in the United States. You see, it is a practical major. My career objective also determines that it is a better choice for me to come back to China than staying in the states. You see my long range objective is to become a professor and it would be very difficult for me to realize it should I choose to stay in the states, for the United States is a highly developed county, the competition to get a position in University is too fierce. On the contrary, if I come back to china, I have much better opportunities. Since china is underdeveloped, it leaves much more space for people, so it is much more practical for me to get a teaching position in a Chinese University.
17) Why do you choose this Univ.?
First of all, University of Lancaster chemical engineering is one of the top doctoral programs in the United States. In my research field, there are 7 professors in the Department of chemical engineering of University of Lancaster. I like the weather there too. It's very similar to the weather in Shanghai. Another reason was that I was admitted to University of Lancaster early in the October. I accepted the offer before November 1st.
18) Why do you like your major?
I believe there is hope for chemical engineering in china. As far as my major is concerned, it will be easy for me to find a good job. You see, this is a practical profession. My long-term goal is to become a professor, and I realize that I should probably stay in the United States, because the United States is a highly developed country. On the other hand, if I go back to China, I have a better chance. Because China is underdeveloped, it leaves more room for the people, so this is my university in China, and the teaching position is more practical.
19) Why do you want to study in USA?
I believe that finance and chemical engineering are very promising in China at the moment. The United States provides the best education in this field. In the United States, professors have a deeper knowledge of this science, while research in China tries to understand chemistry, and American professors can create more original theories. Therefore, the acceptance of doctoral education in the United States is a sound and wise decision.
20) Why do you want to pursue a doctor's degree?
As far as my major is concerned, it will be easy for me to find a good job in China with my Ph. D. in chemical engineering in the United states. You see, this is a practical profession. My long-term goal is to become a professor, I think a doctorate I achieve my goal of occupation is necessary, I hope one day I will be because of a lack of knowledge to academic success, so I need a PhD in this field.
